We first envisioned Jonah as a shrewd, perceptive fellow, but he's gone against our expectations and become one of those clueless smart kids. He's got a big vocabulary, but he doesn't really grok what's going on around him. And yet, he does seem to realize he's only a cartoon character.
And so are we all resistant to type-casting.
